A GARDEN SHELTER PROJECT IN RETFORD

THE BRIEF

Bradgate Grange was appointed to design and build a large garden shelter for an outdoor entertaining area, alongside an outdoor kitchen.

At this stage the client wasn’t sure whether they wanted their garden shelter to be built from a softwood or oak and was looking for a recommendation from Bradgate Grange.

OUR APPROACH

Bradgate Grange carried out a site inspection and marked out the different building sizes for the client’s consideration. CAD drawings and samples were also supplied to help the client visualise the end product.

We also answered the brief by recommending to the client that the garden shelter was made from oak instead of a softwood, which they were absolutely delighted with after seeing the finished structure.

At the time, the client was unsure on whether to go for a shingle roof or plain tiles. The price was an important factor for the client, but Bradgate Grange managed to source a top grade (blue label) cedar shingle roof at a good price.

Working closely with the client and our structural engineer we created this stunning design as shown here.

THE OUTCOME

The Bradgate Grange team were thrilled with the end result and delighted to hear the wonderful feedback from the client.

We hope our client enjoys their new outdoor entertaining area as much as we have in creating this beautiful outdoor space.

“May I take this opportunity to thank you and your team of joiners and roofers for the job they have done on our structure. It has taken our breath away, surpassed our wildest expectations and we are totally blown away.

Dave, the journey was long due to us not being able to make our minds up and you gave us a number of options. You always pointed out the longevity of using an oak structure rather than a soft wood.

Wow, we are so happy we listened and chose to have the oak. QUALITY.”
